As a young creator guided by ‘innocence’, Miller Sun gives tangible form to life’s quiet, hidden rhythms through spontaneous expression and flights of fancy. Here, ‘innocence’ is neither a naive disconnect from reality nor a deliberate posture. It is simply facing a fast-changing world with the sincerity and courage of youth — with innocent eyes, gently giving voice to curiosity, uncertainty, and love.

This exhibition is a quiet interlude as innocence gradually meets experience. Drawing from personal memories, Miller uses subtle yet familiar symbols and tactile materials to trace shapes for emotions that are hard to express. Paintings, patterns, weavings, sculptures, and lights interlace with tenderness in space, transforming an inner landscape into a dense forest, inviting visitors to wander through. Among the layered shadows, dappled light brushes past owls, flames, and stars, softly echoing the quiet dialogue between self-doubt and hope.

Handwoven nests hang from high above: what do they hold, what is taking shape within, and has something already taken flight? As the lingering passion glows like a flame, a cherished toy pig merges into a rose-tinted dream: when the empty little pillow drifts away, a waterfall flows from the warm fissures of an ancient tree; in the dim light, an owl’s quiet gaze watches memories drip down like gentle rain; after a long passage through the unknown, we will reach the edge of the forest, where scattered thoughts settle into a shared whole.

Through unassuming, slightly unpolished forms that keep a quiet distance, Miller weaves her feelings and understandings of the world into a language of her own, echoing those ancient questions: the passage of time, its rising and falling; the self’s uncertainty and its search for reconciliation; bonds and burdens; mystery and the sacred, love… and being loved……

As the white-eared owl fades into dusk, the voice we might simply call “I” grows quiet and blurred in memory. A bashful heart takes its time, often hesitating before all that it perceives. Yet what matters more than perception… listen: the trees keep growing, steady and slow, riding the wind and becoming more resilient as they grow.
