New World Auction Record Price for An Oil Painting by Any Asian Artist set by Christie’s Hong Kong

On 25 and 26 November 2017, Christie’s Hong Kong held three auctions for Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art, which together realised a total of HK$831,063,750/ US$106,912,008. The top lot of the sale was Zao Wou-Ki’s “29.01.64”, which established a world auction record price for an oil painting by any Asian artist, achieving HK$202,600,000/ US$26,063,431. With strong biddings in the room and from online, without a doubt it has been a strong season,with
